NATION 2 1 3 1 2 WASHINGTON, D.C. SGMP hosted its first-ever CGMP Congress on November 14-16. The opening reception was held at the National Archives and the education events were held at the Westin Washington, D.C City Center. NATCAP partnered with SGMP for the opening reception. core competency based training and enhance the skill set necessary  to perform their duties as a government meeting professional. Each GMS certificate is valid for a period of five years from the date the certificate is originally earned. INDIANAPOLIS, IN On October 1st, Crossroads of America launched the Government Meeting Specialist (GMS) certificate program. This is an in-depth certificate program sanctioned by SGMP to be offered by the chapter to its members. Over the course of three years of membership with SGMP, members will earn the certificate through attendance of monthly programs of 3 PHOENIX, AZ The Arizona chapter hosted a successful silent auction on November 7 at the Embassy Suites Phoenix. There were 60 fantastic donations and the event raised enough money to send two planners to the National Education Conference & Expo. Guest  speakers Andrea Gold and Gary Yamamoto delivered a stimulating presentation and video on “Tales of the Script: Speaker Tricks, Traps and Tumbles.” 35
