Everything Nomis – particularly the Nomis Simon OG Mystery Hoodie and the Nomis Simon Heated Hoodie. Eldon Sebastian – Xtreme Adrenaline Boardshop – Regina, Canada. Our big sellers are always goggles, especially when the weather demands it; gloves, for those who weren’t prepared; and novelty clothing items such as t-shirts and sweatshirts. Ashley Graham – Mad River Mountain – Bellefontaine, Ohio. Top sellers so far have been Von Zipper (Phenom) goggles, Scott gloves & poles, Betty Rides outerwear, hoodie sweatshirts by most manufacturers and Fischer skis. Bill Erickson – Eco-Lounge Freeride Shop – Boise, Idaho. Atomic Hawx boots are fitting and selling well. Flow Assault 2 Boa boots are right on. The 686 ladies jacket AVA in khaki and the men’s 686 Plainter jacket in khaki are almost sold out. K2 Silencer twin tips are strong. The Vans Cirro Focus Boa boot is wicked strong. Chris Bunch – Alpine Ski Shop – Sterling, Virginia. My hottest sellers so far this season are all the 686 products, Burton Feelgood boards and Spy Sunglasses. Some ski models that are killing it! Volkl AC40, K2 Seth and Nordica boots are killing it as well. The Rossignol Intense 12 is fitting great for wide/large calf men. Dan Kelsay – Dodge Ridge Wintersports Area – Pinecrest, California. Our early season best sellers are always movies. This is what gets kids into skiing and ready for the upcoming season. Our best sellers are always Matchstick Productions followed by TGR. This year the best seller so far is “Idea” by Poor Boyz Productions with Pep Fujas, Andy Mahre and Eric Pollard. After that our best seller is Armada, from clothing to skis and poles. Armada is our No. 1 company seller. Our best-selling skis this fall so far are Armada ARV, Armada AR6 and K2 Hellbent. Gabe Martin – Colorado FreeSkier – Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado. Greg Guras – Colorado Freeride.com A Racers Edge.com – Breckenridge, Colorado. Bright colors are popular for our store. We are in Western New York and are plagued with many overcast days. Customers want something that will make then visible on the slopes and differentiate themselves from the masses. Also, parents have always wanted their children in bright colors so they can spot them easily. They are realizing that the same holds true in reverse. They are shopping for bright outfits so that their children can find them easily. Kylie Dekdebrun – Greg Dekdebrun Ski Shop – Ellicottville, New York. So far this season for us, Mountain Hardwear Monkey woman jackets, Volcom hoodies and The North Face Denali are what are hot in softgoods. Hardgoods is anything Burton on the snowboard side and Volkl/Tecnica on the ski side. Jeff Magnusson – Scandinavian Ski Shop – Glenview, Illinois. Hot products for us this season are Volkl TigerShark ski, Burton Clash snowboard, Nordica Supercharger Ignition boot, snowboard clothing with print and The North Face fleece. Gary Andert – Outpost Sports – Mishawaka, Indiana. Top sellers for us are The North Face kids Denali fleece jackets, Life is Good T-shirts, Roxy ladies skis, The North Face power stretch gloves, Spyder boys jackets and kids lease equipment. Paul Phillips – Summit Ski & Sport – Summit, New Jersey. Early sales are strong in softshells, fleece, rain jackets and Ugg boots. We operate our businesses in northeast Ohio, and like many other locations have experienced an unseasonably warm fall thus far. Susan Geiger – Geiger’s Clothing & Sports – Lakewood, Ohio. At Legacy Sports, the Oakley Inclinometer sweatshirt in teal blue flew out the door soon after it arrived. The teal blue color should be hot this winter! Susie Weaver – Legacy Sports – Park City, Utah. The hot items in clothing have been men’s and women’s softshell jackets. In hardgoods, the ski of choice is a 80-95mm waist mounted with a flat binding. Top sellers have been the Elan 888, Head Mojo 90, Volkl Mantra and the Fischer Watea 84. Bindings coming with wide brakes have been a nice cost-cutting feature. The biggest buzz in bindings has been the Marker Duke. Head Raptors and Fischer x 120 boots have been received very well and the Dalbello Krypton series has continued to be a dominant seller. Greg Whitehouse – California Ski Company – Berkeley, California. Salomon is having a very strong start in hard goods – Tornado ski and Impact boot. Clothing is a little more of mixed bag with Kjus and Millet doing particularly well at the moment. On the clothing side this may change as the customer changes. At the moment we have a real skier who is looking for something different. Rick Torrey – Basin Ski Shop – Killington, Vermont. We foresee MSR snowshoes & Overland carbon pro poles, Alpina Backcountry skis, Sherpa Adventure Gear, DaKine Hats and OR gloves as our big sellers this upcoming season! Tanya and Scott Micek – OutYaGo Mountain Gear – Alma, Colorado. Our staff loved the Dynastar Contact LTD and the entire Contact line. Even the Dynastar Exclusive Women’s Line is so solid it’s easy to get women into Women “Exclusive” equipment. K2, Rossignol and Atomic are doing a bang up job with finally getting the marketing to the youth in both sports. The kids will be the ones spending $$ and building a brand recognition. Danielle Goldsmith – Goldsmiths Boardhouse – Big Bear Lake, California. d 8 | SIA | T.I.P. | WINTER 2008 http://ARacersEdge.com http://ColoradoFreeride.com
