| WO R D O F F T HE S LOP E S | Meet the new boss… IA would like to introduce you all to the newest chairman of the SIA Board of Directors… Mike Carey, owner of Seirus Innovation, was recently appointed to the SIA chairman of the board position upon the resignation of incumbent James Curleigh. Carey, who previously served as ﬁrst vice chair, will take the new title effective immediately. Mike has been with Seirus since 1979 and is credited with inventing ﬁve of the company’s eight patented products. In his offtime, Carey can also be seen donning black and white stripes in his role as an NFL referee. “I am excited to serve at the helm of SIA’s member association and look forMike Carey ward to playing a pivotal role in helping bolster the future and strength of the snow-sports community,” Carey said. “SIA has a long-standing tradition of delivering viable and relevant materials, services and products to its members. During my term I hope to work with the SIA staff and its members to develop an extensive strategy that enables all facets of our industry to work together and utilize all the assets afforded us to continue growing snow sports both in participation and product sales. If we can get the suppliers, retailers, reps and resorts to come together as one Diane Boyer community and work together then we Marty Carrigan can create synergy and help strengthen the snow sports industry as a whole.” SIA would also like to welcome its newest members of the board – Spyder CEO Jake Jacobs and Atomic USA President Mike Adams – as well as extend congratulations to Session’s President Cindi Busenhart, who was appointed secretary.
