The United Nations Sustainability for All campaign (www.sustainableenergyforall. org) is an initiative launched by the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, and guided by his High Level Group that brings all key actors to the table to make sustainable energy for all a reality by 2030. This internationally focused initiative spans the gamut of energy production, delivery and efficiency. SPFA participated directly during the luncheon event in New York City on Sept. 24, 2012, during the twoweek U.N. meetings amid international dignitaries and representatives. During the event, CEIR’s Craig Silvertooth read aloud the commitments to the program as determined in a High Efficiency Roofi ng Workgroup comprised of U.S. high performance roofi ng organizations. SPFA’s commitments were shared, including provision of SPF health and safety information, SPF product information, and related training and certification material. The focus on roofi ng’s impact in this program originated from the U.N. interest in previous comments made by U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu’s interest in cool-roof technologies.
