Bob Gillikin Receives J. Irwin Miller Award of Excellence obert D. (Bob) Gillikin, distributor principal and chief executive officer of Cummins Southern Plains, Ltd., was one of 10 recipients of the prestigious 2007 J. Irwin Miller Award of Excellence. These awards were presented at a recent R Fuel Efficient. management conference to recognize individuals whose work on behalf of Cummins Inc. and whose core values reflect the spirit of J. Irwin Miller, former chairman and CEO of Cummins. Bob was commended for his commitment to leadership and excellence in customer service, for providing excellent business results, and for developing an outstanding organization. “I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the 582 employees at Cummins Southern Plains who made this accomplishment possible,” Gillikin said during his acceptance speech. Bob was scheduled to retire from Cummins Southern Plains in January. David Gillikin, Vice President – Industrial Operations, has been named as Bob’s replacement. About J. He transformed his hometown of Columbus into a city of architectural wonders, earning it the nickname the Athens of the Prairie. He embraced social reform. As president of the National Council of Churches from 1960 to 1963, he shaped the council into one of the strongest supporters of the civil rights movement. He helped organize the 1963 civil rights march on Washington and was one of three church leaders to organize the National Conference on Race and Religion that same year.
