homepage In the News Congratulations to: Doug Harman, who is serving as interim director of the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau. Doug, who led the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau for 17 years, has agreed to head Arlington’s bureau while the board searches for a new director. Former chief executive Linda DiMario left to pursue other interests. Jeff Bell, who has accepted a newly created position – running a state association satellite ofﬁce for the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau. Jeff had been with the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau for six-and-a-half years and was director of state accounts. He will continue to be based out of San Antonio and will be commute to Austin on a regular basis. Joe Bledsoe, the new director of state accounts for the Arlington CVB. Although originally an Austinite, he has moved to the Arlington area and can be reached at joe@arlington.org, or via telephone at 817-265-7721. Steven Villarreal, the new director of sales for the Staybridge Suites La Cantera in San Antonio, scheduled to open in April. Jill Sutton, CMP, who has taken a position with the Texas Bankers Association as director of membership and vendor relations. She was formerly with TCASE. Joe DaSilva, FACHE, CAE, who has formed an Austin-based consulting and public affairs ﬁrm – the DaSilva Strategic Group. Prior to the group’s establishment, Joe was senior vice president of the Texas Hospital Association. Brianne (Edwards) Mouton, CPCE, who has accepted the director of sales and marketing position for the Holiday Inn NW Arboretum. A former association sales manager for the Austin Marriott South, Bri is excited to continue her membership with TSAE and the Young Professional Group.
