Association Leadership - May/June 2008 - (Page 28) tsae annual conference tsae annual Keynote Speakers Sunday, Sept. 28 1:30pm ON FIRE! THE ART OF PERSONAL CONSISTENCY September 28-30, 2008 Omni Bayfront Hotel Corpus Christi, TX I have been attending one conference or another for 35 years. I can't recall having heard one speaker that combined technical studies/ data, dynamic speaking, humor and all-round quality of even one of the speakers at the Texas Society of Association Executives Seminar, much less all three. I have talked to anyone willing to listen (and some that really didn't want to listen) about just how great and relevant to our day to day work these folks were. I made extensive notes and we are going to make changes to become a better association based on what I learned. And if the Keynote and General Session speakers were not grand enough, each of the Breakout sessions I attended was professionally presented with more than enough time for questions. — Harry Savio, Executive Vice President, Home Builders Association of Greater Austin 28 Association LEADERSHIP | May/June 2008 The biggest challenge facing all of us is how to always perform at our personal best when it counts. Anyone can have an excellent game. Only the best have ÒGame Excellence.Ó The best are the ones who consistently break through in the crunch moments. They are the ones who become models for others through sustained high-performance. They are the keepers of the flame. Mike Lipkin President, Environics Lipkin Monday, Sept. 29 9:00am AUTHENTICITY: WHAT CONSUMERS REALLY WANT In a world of paid-for experiences, consumers increasingly question what is real and what is not. As a result, authenticity is quickly becoming the new consumer sensibility Ð and key business imperative Ð determining what offerings consumers buy and who they buy them from. Mr. Gilmore will show how to manage customersÕ perceptions of authenticity by: recognizing how businesses Òfake itÓ; appealing to the five different genres of authenticity; charting how to be Òtrue to selfÓ and what you say you are; and crafting and implementing business strategies for rendering authenticity.
