Not so much his own, necessarily – though he does have plenty of good ones from his days chasing bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Texas – but rather those of the thousands of fellow alumni who make up his target audience. As executive director of Texas Exes – the university’s official alumni association – Boon uses the positive school-age reflections to maintain and grow the membership of one of the nation’s largest (80,000 members), most active and farthest-reaching alumni groups. Statistics Age: 60. Birthplace: Longview, Texas. Family: Wife, Betty; two daughters, Elise and Emily; one son, Garrett; four grandchildren. Lone Star History: Fifth-generation Texan.
