VRWA’S 2012 EXPO
Annual Expo: August 29-30, 2012
Our 2012 EXPO was held Wednesday and Thursday, August 29-30 at the Augusta EXPOland in Fishersville, Va. with an attendance of approximately 200 attendees, vendors, speakers and staff. Wednesday morning started with a light breakfast and some time to visit with vendors. After a light breakfast, the training sessions began for those water and wastewater operators needing those CPEs. Andy Crocker with Giles County PSA (former VRWA Trainer) and Frank Nadeau, VRWA Wastewater System Operations Specialist, taught the morning sessions. Some attendees and exhibitors opted to participate in either our annual golf tournament or clay shoot, which both had beautiful weather. Reline America Inc. demonstrated their innovative pipe-lining procedure using Blue-Tek, an ultraviolet curing system. Between training sessions, attendees were able to meet with exhibitors who displayed the best and newest supplies,

materials and services with both outdoor exhibits and indoor tabletop displays. The staff at EXPOland served up lunch for us with a sandwich bar, paste salad, fresh fruit and assorted cookies with tea or lemonade. Our afternoon training sessions, instructed by Ginger Quinn with the Virginia Department of Transportation, wrapped up about mid-afternoon to make way for the games, where operators could show off their skills with horseshoe and corn hole tournaments, backhoe and water meter toss contests. It was a great way to unwind with some friendly competitions. Thursday got underway with a hot breakfast and more vendor time before training sessions began. Attendees learned about pumps and controls from the Wood Equipment Service Company team. A BBQ sponsored by HD Supply followed with pork BBQ and chicken with all the fixings. Yum!!! After
