Unitecnec, who initially installed one Constellation into a demo studio at the Madrid-based facility so that engineers could undergo training. The new systems are located in Rooms 1 and 4 – primarily used for advertising projects, and Room 2, which is a Dolby-Certified 5.1 dubbing theatre handling cinema screendestined productions. “The new Constellations replace Fairlight Prodigy 1 [MFX] systems that were originally installed in 1999,” noted Technical Director Quim Rubí, adding: “This is a major upgrade for the facility, and one that allows us to considerably speed up our workflow and accommodate changes in the post-production business.” Closer to home, Fairlight’s October 2007-launched Xynergi Media Production Centre has achieved one of Australia’s highest accolades for design excellence by becoming one of 18 winners of an Australian International Design Award for 2008, presented at a gala dinner held at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
