The space was required to handle production needs for Martha’s Sirius XM radio show Martha Quinn Presents, and to provide Jordan with a base for his TV commercial and film trailer composition. The Russ Berger Design Group used a pArtScience SpaceCoupler cloud to overcome the acoustical concerns caused by the existing building’s low ceilings. The finished studio, named RadioBu, houses a Digidesign Icon D-Control console along with Tarlow’s large collection of vintage instruments and recording equipment. www.marthaquinnpresents.com MUNICH LAWO FLY PACK Munich based TV production company, SIVision, trialed a new HD OB truck at this year’s Budapest Red Bull Air Race. Once the truck was in its working position, up to 20 workplaces were available inside the unit, two of which were in the sound control room, along with a Lawo mc²66. For Imre Sereg, operating philosophy and system reliability were major factors when choosing the Lawo. “Working with the mc²66 is fast and intuitive,” explained Sereg. “The redundant router board in the mc²66 HD core contributes to a high level of reliability that is imperative in live broadcasting.” www.lawo.de HOLLAND PAAS THE DUTCHY ON 3G SIDE Tieline Codecs has created a mobile radio studio for Dutch broadcaster René Paas. The service, which is being claimed as the first of its kind, uses a Tieline Commander G3 codec, fitted with a 3G module. Tieline created the mobile studio for Paas because his work as Chairman of the Netherlands’ Christian Trade Union (CNV) requires him to travel extensively. Jos Stuart, Head of Communication for CNV, commented that in the past this often led to missed radio interviews because “he was either stuck in a traffic jam or didn’t have an ISDN line at his disposal.” www.tieline.com AFIAL Convention 09 Madrid, Spain February 11-13 35th AES Conference London, UK February 17-19 Broadcast LIVE Earls Court 2, London February 23-25 BES EXPO 2009 New Delhi, India March 3-5 CabSat 2009 Dubai, UAE March 3-8 CeBIT 2009 Hannover, Germany March 4-5 Australian Broadcasting Summit Sydney, Australia 12 AUDIO MEDIA DECEMBER 2008 http://www.audiomedia.com http://www.marthaquinnpresents.com http://www.lawo.de http://www.tieline.com http://www.audioag.com
