The acquisition nearly doubles the size and resources of the combined videoconferencing company, which will operate under the name of Providea Conferencing, LLC. Providea Conferencing’s CEO, Tom Bailey, says, “Providea and Videré may have originated on opposite coasts, but we share a similar philosophy toward customer service and our out- look on the significant opportunities in this industry. The combination of our two companies strengthens our nationwide capabilities as well as reinforces our customer support.” WestView Capital Partners has completed a recapitalization and growth equity investment in Providea. WestView’s continued financial involvement will help Providea Conferencing expand its market position through organic initiatives and additional acquisitions. NOTABLE PROJECTS MEGA-MULTICHANNEL AUDIO: The Museum of Tolerance/Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles recently added a 308-channel Iosono sound system in their Peltz Theater — the first theater installation of its type in the U.S. System integrator Electrosonic of Burbank, CA supplied design, engineering, fabrication, installation, and programming of the system. The system uses waveform synthesis, allowing for effects and movement of sound that have never been reproduced before now. Electrosonic added HD video capabilities including Christie 5,000-lumen 3-chip HD DLP projector was installed, along with an array of video sources, including Blu-ray DVD players. of January 1, 2009, Jay Rogina, CTS, of Spinitar will ascend to president; and Tom Stimson, CTS, of the Stimson Group will be designated president-elect. Mark Valenti, CTS, of The Sextant Group will become chairman of the newly formed Leadership Development Committee. The InfoComm membership has elected Michael Vergauwen of AVI secretary-treasurer of the Board of Directors for the 2009 term. Barry Goldin, CTS, of Audio Video Systems and Cory Schaeffer of Listen Technologies Corporation were elected to serve two-year director-at-large terms.
