With front projector prices dropping dramatically, one would assume the lamp prices would follow suit. This has not been the case. Additionally, disposing of an entire spent lamp assembly is wasteful and environmentally harmful. If untrained technicians miss worn connectors, these parts could wind up in the new unit and possibly be cause for safety concerns. If dust or oils get on the new burner, they can cause hot spots that lead to premature failure. However, PLS understands the hazards and intricacies associated with the lamps . “We are a manufacturer of lamps and have been dealing with these components for years,” Sansivero points out. “Only technicians trained by our manufacturing engineers do the re-lamping. They work with the same standards and in the same type of clean environment, too. They clean all re-lamped modules and ensure that they are free of dust; extensive quality testing ensures that our re-manufactured projector lamp ships with performance and lifetime comparable to that of the original.” All PLS lamps are covered by a 90 day warranty. In addition to the relamping service, PLS offers a projector lamp recycling service. The no-charge recycling program allows and encourages schools, corporations, government facilities, houses of worship and individuals to recycle their projector lamps.
