COOKE OPTICS will demonstrate its Red Set, comprising four primes from 15mm to 100mm, plus a zoom lens. The set of these high-end lenses will cost you nearly $100,000. BAND PRO will show four additional Zeiss cine lenses: 52mm and 135mm primes and 624mm and 17-112mm zoom lenses. Cooke’s new Red Set. It will be interesting to see how many primes and zoom lenses Red brings to NAB ‘08. Both Canon and Fujinon will have a limited selection of 1⁄3" standard and wide-angle zoom lenses for camcorders with interchangeable lenses. With Sony offering interchangeable lenses on some of its 1⁄3" camcorders, the selection of 1⁄3" lenses and accessories can be expected to grow. A prime example is DV Probe by INNOVISION OPTICS. This tubular lens intended for exploring small spaces expands the toolkit for HDV production. The same is true of .7x wide-angle and 1.5x teleextenders for use with Canon, JVC, Panasonic and Sony 1⁄3" camcorders. SCHNEIDER/CENTURY OPTICS will feature 6x and .75x wide-angle, 1.6x telephoto and fisheye converters for 1⁄3" camcorders, and possibly 1⁄2" as well for Sony’s EX1. It has 240 user-selectable frequencies for each channel, stereo output, digital LCD displays with multi-function readout, and separate Power On/Off switches for each channel. It operates on just 2 "AA" batteries and has a unique dual-function DC jack. Optional NiMH batteries can be recharged while in the 320UPR, or the receiver can be powered from an external, optional power supply. Additionally, the 320UPR comes with both dual-plug XLR and a stereo mini-plug output cable, removable shoe-mount, and flexible high-gain antennas.
