The most significant feature is the ability for multiple users to centrally access and work on the same media files simultaneously, with stable and reliable high-speed performance at any resolution or file format, including 4K, without ever needing to interrupt work for performance maintenance. Avid’s Media Composer enhancements including keyframeable color correction and a new Fluid Stabilizer, CPU/GPU acceleration of visual effects, and improved interoperability with Digidesign Pro Tools. Avid has added native support for the RED R3D file format to Avid DS, which delivers a faster ingest of RED footage, the ability to apply RLX color intent data to footage, and capabilities to preset project and sequence settings for RED projects at 2K, 3K and 4K resolutions.
