NABShow Daily News 2008 - (Page 5) April 2008 PREVIEW Edition | NAB Show Daily News 5 Spotlight On CENTRAL HALL Clear-Com Exploits IP, Adds Intercoms Clear-Com Communications Systems contributes to this year’s trend — IP — with the new Clear-Com Concert conferencing and intercom system. Concert is a Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) system capable of handling hundreds of users at a time. Unlike a hardwired system, an IP system can be configured and reconfigured constantly, depending on the number of users, sound quality needed and mission. Concert can be made secure through 128-bit encryp- tion and is fully redundant. Applications include phone calls, conference call and intercom duty. Concert can also operate within a Local Area Network (LAN). For the somewhat more traditional, the Eclipse Digital Matrix Version 5.0 is available. The Eclipse links together ClearCom’s V-Series panels, CellCom wireless intercom units (beltpacks and headsets) and E1/T1 telecoms. Eclipse is configured through a computer/Ethernet LAN. Connection options include fiber optics, coaxial cable, IP and E/1/T1 tele- Clear-Com’s Eclipse com lines. An AES-6-RJ card allows control of remote panels via AES3 audio routers. Improved DSP and a stored message function are part of the package. The new V-Series Desktop station is fully compatible with the Eclipse Digital Matrix. The Desktop features a gooseneck microphone, a numeric keypad for dialing and a 10-character display that is compatible with Japanese and Chinese characters. An upgrade to Clear-Com’s CellCom10 system, V1.5.7 brings new features including muting of remote microphones, improved beltpack configuration controls and improved alert functions.
