Specifically, 25 exceptionally compact and lightweight Powersoft K10DSPs were used to feed the huge amount of Clair Brothers subwoofers required for the show. After 25 years on the road, veteran FOH engineer Martin Frey is glad to be working with a full complement of Sennheiser wired and wireless microphones, along with Sennheiser wireless personal monitors for every member of Los Angeles-based act OneRepublic. Simple, compact, and easy to use, the CabGrabber enables sound engineers and musicians to conveniently place a microphone on a guitar amplifier or cabinet without the use of a mic stand. Constructed of durable aluminum tubing, the CabGrabber is lightweight but very capable of holding microphones typically used for miking guitar cabinets securely and firmly in place, including large diaphragm condenser mics weighing up to 16 ounces. CabGrabber will accommodate cabinets ranging from 8 to 14 inches in depth. Held on to the cabinet by a tension fit design, CabGrabber will work equally well on cabinets with a flat surface or a recessed edge. The tubular arm, threaded to hold any standard microphone clip, will rotate 180 degrees and can be locked into position with a thumb screw. In festival situations the mic has been a lifesaver; with no sound checks I can throw this mic on and don’t have to spend much time re-EQing. Recently, I was able to use the 35 on both Letterman as well as Leno. Those engineers are pretty picky about what they use because the broadcast goes to millions of viewers. I asked them to at least take a listen; they agreed and were happy to use it for the taping.” PRICE: $299 CONTACT: Heil Sound | ¤ 618-257-3000 · www.heilsound.com CREST AUDIO X Series Rackmount Mixers Crest Audio is touting its new X Series rackmount mixers, the successor to the widely regarded X-Rack Series.
