A stateof-the-art venue built to showcase the talents of celebrity entertainers, the theater boasts a seating capacity of over 1,400. The console was purchased by Yamaha dealer, ACIR Professional in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. “We are extremely happy that the Hilton decided to purchase a second Yamaha PM5D,” states John Grasso, ACIR Pro co-owner. The first UK installation of the new OmniLine Micro Line Array from Martin Audio has been installed in the three-story, glass-fronted Kingly Club in London’s Covent Garden. The scalable system was specified by Bernard Mani, head of London integration company Systems Etc, after witnessing its launch at PLASA 2007 and seeing it immediately adopted in America for Star Trek The Tour — billed as “the largest interactive Star Trek exhibit ever.” Teatro Regio di Torino (Turin Royal Theatre), one of Italy’s most famous and prominent opera houses, recently installed a Soundcraft Vi6 digital console as part of an equipment upgrade. With a new acoustic shell designed to improve the sound, the main theatre seats 1,750 (including 37 boxes around the perimeter) while the smaller Piccolo Teatro Regio takes a further 600 people. Two years ago the theatre purchased a 32-channel Soundcraft MH3 analogue desk from distributors Audio Equipment, which continues to mix monitors. Robert Soluri, president of Bostonbased Custom Cable Services, has a growing list of small-scale installations centered on the Symetrix Zone Mix 760. With it, he offers his clients clean control interfaces through the use of Symetrix ARC-2 interactive wall panels, sophisticated processing such as ducking and automatic gain control, and bulletproof reliability that resists the “improvements” of wellintentioned but under-qualified establishment employees. Before the Zone Mix 760, delivering such functionality would have come with a price tag that no small-scale client would have even remotely entertained. MIDDLE ATLANTIC PRODUCTS BIM Technology Middle Atlantic now supports Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, allowing audio consultants and specifiers to bring flat architectural drawings to the next level. Recognizing that architects are requesting BIM-compatible 3D drawings to more successfully integrate into their overall projects, BIM represents a move toward a more sophisticated modeling and specification process. Middle Atlantic’s BIM drawings can be used with software packages such as Revit from Autodesk, makers of AutoCAD, and SketchUp from Google. Many models are currently available at middleatlantic.com with more being added regularly.
