KRK Systems R6 Passive Studio Monitor KRK Systems’ new R6 passive studio monitor incorporates design and performance cues from KRK’s Rokit G2 line (reviewed on page 32), featuring radically “radiused” edges along the front of the cabinet and a molded front baffle. This approach exists to virtually eliminate diffraction distortion caused by standard flat baffles. R6 features 5-way speaker binding posts, a precision crossover and is capable of handling 100 watts (RMS) of power. According to KRK, “The [R6] baffle also houses a molded front-facing bass port that minimizes low-frequency phase distortion and unwanted frequency emphasis typical of rear-facing bass ports. The M10 allows control of up to eight M7s and also allows system settings to be stored and recalled at the touch of a button. It features eight front-panel meters that display levels for four stereo audio sources, providing simultaneous metering of a quartet of connected Model 7s. “The new Model 10 uses the same clear and easy-to-read displays as we provide on the M7 with the same human interface, plus the addition of MACHINE and SETUP keys — so there is no need to learn something new,” explains Bricasti president Brian Zolner. “We also offer simultaneous control of the M7 from both the M7’s front panel and/or the M10.” Price: $2,099 Contact: Bricasti | www.bricasti.com Solid State Logic E Series EQ, Dynamics Processors The two latest modules for Solid State Logic’s modular X-Rack/Mynx SuperAnalogue mixing and processing system are the E Series EQ and E Series Dynamics processors, both of which are based on the classic 611E console channel strip. The E Series EQ key features “Black-242” and “Brown-02” twin EQ design, bell curve option on HF and LF, fully parametric LMF, and HMF with Q. The E Series Dynamics Module features a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate with key input, Class A VCA replication.
