ProAudio Review - March 2009 - (Page 39) Audio-Technica IEM Accessory Products Audio-Technica has unveiled accessory products for its IEM (in-ear monitor) line. First is the AM3, an ambient, omni-directional condenser lavalier microphone, terminated with a right-angle 3.5mm connector. It is targeted for use with the company’s M2 and M3 personal monitor system receivers. Includes clothing clip and windscreen. The ATW-A49S is a single, UHF, wide-band directional LPDA (log periodic dipole array) antenna, which provides transmission for UHF personal monitor systems throughout a wide band range (440-900 MHz). It includes a 12-foot cable. The AT8623 is a joining plate for mounting two M2T and/or M3T transmitters in a single, 19-inch rack space. ILA v2 comes to end-users as a turnkey package including dedicated full-range and subwoofer loudspeaker components, processing, amplification and suspension accessories. It is targeted for nightclubs, ballrooms, performing arts facilities, houses of worship, and other venues. The ILA v2 features the SC28 system controller, QSC’s proprietary Intrinsic Correction circuitry and RMX Series amplifiers. Every ILA v2 system is equipped with a pair of neodymium magnet, 8-inch diameter, low-frequency drivers. For high frequencies, a pair of 1.75-inch (voice coil diameter) neodymium compression drivers with titanium domes is mounted on a multiple aperture diffraction waveguide that provides 140-degree coverage. An upgraded subwoofer, the WL118-sw, is also offered. It features the ND12L, Adamson’s first lightweight, long-excursion, 12inch, Kevlar Neodymium driver, designed for demanding vocal performance. This is combined with Adamson’s Advanced Cone Architecture, a proprietary technology that is said to increase the linearized midrange response by reducing the radial and chaotic modes in the driver’s passband. The Kevlar cone design also enforces durability in wet conditions, making the M12 a possibility for outdoor events. The M12’s HF section features a 3-inch diaphragm, 1.4-inch exit, Neodymium driver, fitted with an Adamson waveguide, resulting in a complete package measuring only 8 x 25.125 x 11 inches and weighing in at 51 lbs.
