This solution connects multiple high-density Stageboxes into the Euphonix DSP SuperCore via MADI over fiber with control directly from the console’s channel strips. The solution comprises of a modular 3U Stagebox that can handle up to 56 mic preamps, but can also be fitted with combinations of I/O to match the exact requirements of the application, including analog, AES/EBU (75 and 110ohm), SDI and MADI. A second Stagebox could be fitted to provide analog or digital splits of the mic preamp outputs from the first Stagebox for feeding the local PA/monitor mixers, for example. Euphonix, www.euphonix.com BE’s AudioVAULT Automation Platform RTW’s SurroundControl 31900/31960 Systems RTW has completely overhauled its SurroundControl family, the 8-channel systems for professional production, post production and broadcast that control, monitor and analyze surround sound utilizing the company’s Surround Sound Analyzer. Developed by RTW, the Surround Sound Analyzer is the “house”-shaped display that is a visual manifestation of overall sound, including loudness and sound-pressure level, phase correlation and level differences among channels. The SurroundControl 31900 is designed for audio studios and fits in a 19-inch, 1RU case, while the SurroundControl 31960 is sized as a half 19-inch, 3RU rackmountable module for use with standard 19-inch installation racks for waveform monitors in video studios. Both units feature an HD- and SD-capable SDI de-embedder interface as well as analog and digital audio in- and outputs. The new SDI interface can access all 16 (4x4) audio channels implemented in SDI streams and use them for both visual display and audio monitoring. RTW, www.rtw.de Clear-Com’s Eclipse Digital Matrix 5.0 Clear-Com Communication Systems has introduced Version 5.0 of its Eclipse Digital Matrix intercom system. Acting as a central switching unit for communications across a broadcast operation, Eclipse Digital Matrix Version 5.0 links ClearCom’s V-Series Panels and CellCom wireless beltpacks and headsets for access to communication in the studio or out in the field. According to the company, the new version brings increased connectivity and expandability through E1/T1 telecom connection, fiber linking with intelligent switchover and AES Digital Connectivity to V-Series panels for flexibility in OB truck applications. Working in concert with an E-FIB card, fiber linking between Eclipse intercom matrixes of the Median and Omega classes reportedly enables multi-venue productions to tie intercom systems together. Multiple Eclipse systems may then act as one non-blocking Matrix using redundant high-capacity fiber, resulting in a full-duplex communications system for mobile production and studio integration. Clear-Com, www.clearcom.com Broadcast Electronics (BE) has unveiled its AudioVAULT studio automation platform. Double-donut segues, personalized studio “mashups” and interactive talent collaboration are just a few of AudioVAULT’s uses. AudioVAULT X is a complete digital media system for live-assist or satellite operation. The new platform offers on-air studio operation as well as a full suite of scheduling and production modules for multitrack editing, music rotation and ad insertion. Broadcast Electronics www.bdcast.com Sennheiser’s SR 350 IEM G2 Transmitter Sennheiser has debuted its evolution wireless SR 350 IEM G2. The twin transmitter with HDX compander can be used with the EK 300 IEM G2 and EK 3253 monitor receivers. There are 1,440 UHF frequencies available for transmission. For a direct choice of channel, every transmitter has eight channel banks, each of which has 12 presets, as well as a bank with up to 12 user-selectable channels. There is an option for the twin transmitter to be controlled and programmed via the NET 1 network system; both transmitters can be listened to through separate headphone sockets. The SR 350 IEM G2 can be incorporated directly into a 19-inch rack. Sennheiser www.sennheiserusa.com Wohler’s Plus Audio System Sonifex’s Rackmount Reference Monitors Sonifex has launched a series of three rackmount audio monitors, called the Reference Monitor range. The three units are the RM-2S4, RM-2S10 and RM-4C8. The RM-2S4 (pictured) features two LED meters and stereo channel audio inputs. The RM-2S10 also has two LED meters, but 10 stereo channel audio inputs. The RM-4C8 has four LED meters, eight channel inputs and dual selectors. Each one is a 1U rackmount unit offering loudspeaker monitoring and high-resolution metering of up to four or 10 stereo audio sources (more with the addition of an optional expansion card). Sources may be in any mixture of analog and AES/EBU digital formats, with sample rates up to 192 kHz accepted, and a 5-band parametric EQ can be used to tailor the unit for the room in which it is mounted. Sonifex, www.sonifex.co.uk Wohler’s Plus line of audio products is a modular system that features flexible inputs (16 channels or eight AES pairs) and outputs, alarms, monitoring and metering, along with multiple channel synchronizing and shuffling of channels for 5.1 or 7.1 signal confidence. Optional inputs include AES and multi-rate serial digital embedded audio with Dolby encoding. The 2RU Wohler Plus features a high-resolution TFT screen and onboard menu system for control, as well as Ethernet, RS-232 and GPIO interfaces.
