Salzbrenner Stagetec His most recent position was executive vice president of sales and product marketing at Euphonix, where he worked in Vancouver, London and finally at the company headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. ■ Industry veteran Tom Menrath has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president, global business development at Behringer (Bothell, WA). During his tenure as Guitar Center’s business development director, outside sales grew tenfold in less Tom Menrath, than five years. Menrath’s prior Behringer positions include director of sales and marketing at Monster Cable and marketing/business development at Mesa/Boogie. ■ Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems (Buena Park, CA) has named Jonathan Peirson to the position of district manager responsible for the California and Hawaii sales territory. Prior to joining the YCAS sales team, Peirson recently held the position of director of sales, Western region for JBL Professional where he worked since 1995. Prior to JBL, he held various positions at Anchor Audio, including vice president of marketing where he began his career in 1984. ■ TC|US (Westlake Village, CA) has appointed Miguel Hadelich to the position of technical sales manager for the live and install division. He will have a technical sales focus within the growing live and install division of TC|US, particularly with the Lab.gruppen brand. Hadelich Miguel Hadelich, previously held the position of appliTC|US cations engineer at Dolby Lake where he was responsible for training on Dolby Lake processors as well as technical advice and support. ■ Marta Guisti has joined Sennheiser Electronic Corporation (Old Lyme, CT) in its newly expanded marketing communications team as graphics and production associate. In her new position, she will design, develop and execute corporate Marta Guisti, marketing communications Sennheiser projects. Her main responsibilities include designing newsletters, e-mail blasts, dealer announcements and promotions. Guisti began her career at ValuMail in Hartford, CT as a junior graphic designer and quickly moved up to a senior graphic design position. 60secondinterview MATT BUSH, CROWN INTERNATIONAL Q: What is your new position, and what does it entail? A: My new position is vice president of sales for Crown International. The job entails worldwide sales responsibility for the Crown Audio brand, as well as the inside sales and customer service functions to support our global sales force, channel partners and end-users. Q: How has your background prepared you for your new role? A: Throughout my career, I have held various management positions in engineering, manufacturing, operations and supply chain. My most recent position was vice president of operations at the Harman Music Group for the dbx, BSS, Lexicon and DigiTech brands. In this role, I was responsible for strategy and execution of global manufacturing, planning, distribution, customer service and repair, inside sales administration, product training and field-application engineering. Q: What new marketing initiatives are we likely to see from Crown? A: You will see an increase in customer intimacy and interaction with our customers at all levels in the audio sales pipeline. This could include online, regional and in-house training courses for engineers, programmers, consultants, contractors and our own sales force. It will also include a broader range of individuals who know how to speak the language of the varied sets of individuals in the decisionmaking processes. Q: What are your short- and long-term goals? A: In the near term, I will get close to our customers and channel partners so that Crown will take market share during the economic downturn and we will begin to build the internal structure and systems necessary to sustain our future strategy. In the long term, we will grow this business substantially through better channel partner interactions, new products and huge focus in some of the fastest-growing global markets like India, China and Eastern Europe. Q: What is the greatest challenge that you face? A: The U.S. and global economies are our biggest shortterm challenges. However, this turmoil will eventually pass, and we are doing much work during these times that will make us a stronger and larger company when things improve. Crown is an amazing company; the people here are very talented, creative, extremely productive and without the fear of change. With these qualities, I have no doubts that we can shape our future to meet the new world that is quickly taking form around us. ■ Lynx Studio Technology (Costa Mesa, CA) has brought industry veteran Mike Nicoletti on board as sales and support coordinator. He has held a variety of support and training positions at Yamaha, Alesis and Apogee prior to joining Lynx. According to the company, Mike Nicoletti, his product knowledge and Lynx strong familiarity with the recording and pro audio retailers and end-users make him qualified to work in both the sales and support departments. He is also a musician and recording engineer. ■ As part of an ongoing expansion and reorganization of the company’s marketing department, Rebeca Trautner has been named public relations manager for Middle Atlantic Products (Fairfield, NJ). She has been at Middle Rebeca Trautner, Atlantic since 2002, serving as Middle Atlantic communications coordinator, Products channel marketing coordinator and marketing associate. Trautner will be committed to strengthening Middle Atlantic’s support of trade publications by providing technical information encompassing best practices and tips and tricks for rack system integration, effective thermal and cable management techniques and power distribution and grounding methods for optimized system performance and safety. ■ Apogee Electronics (Santa Monica, CA) has named David McCarthy to the position of director of sales.
