A New Podcast Sets Out to
Educate Design Students
on the Industry

O

ur industry needs to help grow the next generation of budding designers. That's
why NEWH is proud to partner with Nick May of interior design podcast "The
Chaise Lounge," which debuted its sister podcast the Student Lounge
on July 11th.
The Student Lounge is the student-run podcast for everything young designers need to
know in this exciting but competitive industry. Every Wednesday, host Trish Semmoum
will take listeners into the minds of the world's brightest interior designers, professors,
educators-and yes, students-to learn how trendsetters combine passion and
entrepreneurship in successful careers.

Our Host

Nick May

Originally from Morocco, Trish Semmoum moved to the states early in life and is currently
pursuing her interior design degree at Georgia Southern University. When she isn't working
hard behind the scenes to bring students the wisdom they need, Trish can be found
networking with industry leaders at the season's biggest industry trade expos. With a
student's perspective and the support of the Chaise Lounge, Trish knows exactly how to get
the answers to students' biggest questions.

A Student-Run Platform

The Student Lounge is much more than a podcast. Students can
head over to thestudentloungepodcast.com to post their own
questions to be answered on the podcast, swap study and design
tips, write and contribute blogs, and gush over the latest industry
trends. And with the network of Nick May and the Chaise Lounge, students can connect with
movers and shakers to break into the industry.
Starting July 11th, listeners will have access to three episodes featuring a student, an
educator, and a designer, that will immediately be made available wherever folks get their
podcasts.
