Artwork is on display everywhere from the lobby to the atrium to the guestrooms- where it doubles as wallcoverings of abandoned Detroit landmarks, headboard inlays that suggest Fordite mines, and salvaged-wood moldings. Together, these elements resolve what Deary deems the project's biggest challenge: "to capture and celebrate a city amid a creative and economic renaissance. It was important to us to focus on the people who are part of that."
