FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION
SAVES
LIVES
During Fire Prevention Week, community awareness about fire safety is heightened by fire safety advocates. Local fire departments play a huge role in educating the public about fire safety by visiting schools, community centers and opening fire stations to the public. Fire safety education is very important because it saves lives – especially for young children.
Your help is needed!
Budget cuts have made it more difficult for fire departments to buy fire safety materials that are a critical component of life-saving community education programs. You can help by going online and purchasing requested materials for local fire departments. Contributions start at $12.50 and ship straight to your chosen fire department. NFPA is the proud sponsor of Fire Prevention Week, the longest running public health and safety observance on record.
