Taking Your R Volunteer Program to the Next Level By Sandra Huster, BA ecently Dale Knee, president/CEO of Covenant Hospice, told his staff that “Covenant continues to be well positioned to deal with any future cuts, but we must increase the use of volunteers in all aspects of what we do.” Like Covenant, hospice programs all across the country are being challenged to work together and take hospice volunteer programs to the next level. Expanding the role of volunteers in the hospice setting requires that hospice organizations move out of their comfort zones and look at volunteer utilization differently.
