Quality Reporting • Created a central hub on the NHPCO website for information related to Quality Reporting— including links to NHPCO resources as well as quick links to key information on the CMS website. • Revised the basic support materials for the Comfortable Dying measure (NQF 0209) and created additional tools for member-providers such as an annotated Timeline for Quality Reporting and a Data Management Workbook. • Provided educational opportunities for members through a variety of venues, including tracks at NHPCO’s two national conferences and monthly Webinars. (Over 2,000 members alone availed themselves of the Webinars.) • Collaborated with CMS and its contractors on the creation of the CMS User Guides for Quality Reporting Data Collection, and training materials for NQF 0209, including the CMS Quality Reporting Webinars and accompanying Q&A document. (See Quality Reporting.) • Submitted extensive comments to CMS on the Proposed Rule related to the expansion of quality reporting in 2013 and beyond. Research • Released the 2012 edition of NHPCO Facts and Figures: Hospice Care in America, which is widely used and valued by the media, hospice advocates and government agencies. • Kept members fully and promptly apprised of federal regulatory activities through the weekly e-newsletter, NewsBriefs; email Alerts, and Regulatory Roundups.
