NI New Products, Volume 2, 2008 - (Page 2) Intelligent Data Acquisition Modules Customize PXI Hardware with NI LabVIEW FPGA The new NI R Series modules for PXI feature Xilinx Virtex-5 field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and offer commercial off-the-shelf hardware that you can graphically program with the LabVIEW FPGA Module for custom data acquisition, rapid prototyping, and high-speed control applications. The NI PXI-7841R, PXI-7842R, PXI-7851R, and PXI-7852R modules feature eight analog inputs, eight analog outputs, 96 digital I/O lines, and analog I/O rates that are more than 3.5X faster than previously released R Series devices. Sampling rates up to 200 kS/s with the PXI-7841R and PXI-7842R modules and up to 750 kS/s with the PXI-7851R and PXI-7852R modules Ability to execute more LabVIEW code at faster rates with either a Virtex-5 LX30 or Virtex-5 LX50 FPGA Visit ni.com/rseries High-Performance NI Compact FieldPoint Controllers These controllers deliver greater performance, processor speed, and Ethernet throughput. The NI cFP-2210 and cFP-2220 controllers include a 400 MHz PowerPC processor and VxWorks real-time operating system. The controllers can also withstand 50 g of shock and 5 g of RMS vibration. Additional features include: Operability in temperatures ranging from -40 to 70 °C and a 10X increase in Ethernet throughput Dual Ethernet ports for a private static network and 2X storage and RAM on the cFP-2220 Dual-Gigabit Ethernet Interface The NI 8234 high-performance, dual-gigabit Ethernet interface for PXI Express and CompactPCI Express is based on the Intel 82571EB gigabit Ethernet controller. The NI 8234 interface includes two gigabit ports within the single-slot PXI Express module and is compatible with 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet networks. Additional interface features include: Two gigabit Ethernet interfaces with up to 1000 Mb/s (1000BASE-T) transfers per port Automatic cable polarity detection High-Performance, RealTime Embedded Design The NI cRIO-9014 real-time controller features a 400 MHz Freescale MPC5200 with an integrated floating-point processor. Use this controller to create an embedded system for memory management. The controller also delivers fast data throughput to handle complex signal processing algorithms. Other features include: 128 MB of DRAM and 2 GB of nonvolatile storage LabVIEW Real-Time compatibility for deterministic control, data logging, and analysis Serial Modules for CompactRIO The NI 9870 (RS232) and NI 9871 (RS485/ RS422) four-port serial modules are ideal for connecting additional serial devices. They offer microsecond-level timing, extreme reliability, individual 64 B transmit-and-receive FIFOs for each point, and the ability to implement custom protocols. New PROFIBUS Interfaces New NI PROFIBUS industrial communications interfaces deliver master and slave connectivity to PCs, PXI and PCI systems, and the new NI industrial controllers. The interfaces control PROFIBUS devices, such as rugged sensors, motors, and PLCs, and serve as powerful slave nodes on existing networks. Analysis and Signal Processing Software The NI Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite 6.0 offers analysis for noise, vibration, and harshness; machine condition monitoring; and audio tests.
