The company, which had used BCD Travel as its consolidated U.S. agency, began booking transactions using Carlson Wagonlit Travel as its consolidated global agency in June of last year. It also built new T&E targets based on external benchmarks. Last year, Hewlett-Packard implemented a global meetings and events policy and rolled out a three-page hotel addendum, which has already been accepted by one major hotel chain worldwide. In 2008, the company plans to stabilize and maximize the value of a single travel infrastructure and work with businesses to meet travel targets. HP completed the acquisition of EDS in August 2007. The company uses American Express as its primary card and uses an internally developed application for expense reporting. >>Defense contractor and shipbuilder Northrop Grumman curtailed its U.S. booked air volume last year by 6.3 percent. Online booking adoption using GetThere has risen to 87 percent with a 90 percent touchless rate on eligible transactions. Associated transaction fees are 77 percent less expensive than Northrop’s offline bookings, and adoption has helped it reduce service fees by $4.7 million in 2007. In 2008, the travel team of five is working to establish a strategic meetings management program with a separate policy and card. Raytheon’s internal travel management organization is part of a strategic commodities management enterprise. The firm helped offset increasing travel costs by raising use of its online self-booking tool. Raytheon employed 72,100 people worldwide in 2007, a slight decline from 73,000 in 2006.
