DIFFA/Chicago Announces Believe 2013 Red Hot Ball + An Inspired Collaboration The Chicago chapter of Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) will host its 25th annual gala on Saturday, June 8. The Believe 2013 Red Hot Ball is a black-tie benefit dinner and cocktail reception that also serves as a kickoff event for NeoCon®. Proceeds from the gala will go to Chicago-area service agencies that provide assistance, education, and outreach to those living with HIV/AIDS. The event is the third in a series of six Believe galas dedicated to the organization’s grantees and has a special focus on education and advocacy this year. Attended by design industry leaders from across the country, the evening commences with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago, and will be followed by feature presentations, a live auction, dinner, dessert, and dancing. Val Warner of ABC 7 Chicago’s Windy City LIVE will serve as event host. Dr. Claudia Hawkins of Northwestern University’s Division of Infectious Diseases at the Feinberg School of Medicine will serve as the keynote speaker. She will address how progress in AIDS research has been helped by education and advocacy. Herman Miller returns as Legacy Benefactor, The Design Center of The Merchandise Mart is Sustaining Benefactor, and Steelcase is Presenting Sponsor.
