Zaha Hadid's 62-Story
Condo Tower in Miami
Zaha hadid has designed one thousand museum,
a 62-story condo tower in miami that is her first
skyscraper to be built in the Western hemisphere.
the curvaceous tower won't be complete until 2017,
but those interested in buying one of 83 residences
(starting price: $5 million) can visit the temporary
sales gallery located in ten museum park next door.
the gallery features a ceiling installation and
furniture by hadid. the ceiling is comprised of matte
black die-cut aluminum insets punctuated by three
teardrop forms made from light diffusing acrylic.
leDs in the teardrops illuminate the ceiling to
be easily visible from biscayne boulevard.
beneath the installation sits hadid's
moon system (pictured above), a modular sofa
covered in metallic fabric, created with b&b italia.
the swooping genesy lamp for artemide (right in
photo) calls to mind a canopy of trees. -murrye bernard
