W
hen a well-known brand like Tommy Hilfiger sets up shop on one of the world’s most popular shopping thoroughfares, the retail world takes notice. Tommy’s latest Fifth Avenue flagship in New York, which opened last fall, has been designated by the readers of DDI as the BestDesigned Store of the Year. Designed by the Tommy Hilfiger in-house creative team in partnership with Seattle-based Callison, the store imparts a mix of modern and traditional with respect to the original 20th-century McKim, Mead and Whitedesigned building’s architectural heritage. The result is a “classic American cool” vibe that perfectly represents the brand and its new Fifth Avenue home.
