Highlights of the 2011 show GlobalShop Opening Night Reception Taking place Monday, March 28, from 7 p.m.10 p.m., and sponsored by Leggett & Platt, the launch party will kick off at Tryst nightclub at the Wynn. GlobalShop Conferences The show’s stacked conference schedule of industry experts and top talents features CEUaccredited seminars you won’t want to miss. The value-priced conference line-up costs just $25 per session (see schedule on opposite page) and gains you access to the industry’s thought-leaders. PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge for Students Sponsored and presented by B&N Industries, this competition challenges college students in store design, interior design, visual merchandising and industrial design programs to design, develop and construct a branded store fixture to display pet-specific accessories and/or pet care product. Top finishers were offered the opportunity to work with a design and manufacturing firm to make a prototype. Just like last year, attendees will be able to see the students’ physical displays right on the show floor (visit booth SFS 4111). A.R.E. Design Awards The famed Store of the Year award will be unveiled on Monday, March 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at The Venetian. DDI also will present the 2011 Markopoulos Award winner and the Best in Show award for the most exciting booth at GlobalShop 2011. The PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge Winner also will be announced, as well as A.R.E.’s Sustainability Awards and Above & Beyond Award. POPAI’s OMA Awards Gala Celebrating its 75th anniversary, POPAI will host its annual OMA Awards Gala on Tuesday, March 29, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in The Venetian Ballroom. Industry professionals will come together to recognize the most innovative and effective marketing at-retail displays. The highlight of the evening is the announcement of the 2011 Marketing at-Retail Award Winners. “The Best of GlobalShop” This feature area of the show floor will showcase standout products and services.
