SPEAKERS SPEAKERS continued Bevan Bloemendaal, Senior Director, Global Creative Services, The Timberland Co. Bevan Bloemendaal leads Timberland’s Global Creative Services Group, a team whose passion is creating emotional, viscerally engaging and memorable environments and consumer experiences that bring to life Timberland’s New England bootmaking heritage. Bloemendaal has been with The Timberland Co. since 1999, and has received numerous design awards for retail stores, concept shop, fi xture, POS, POP, graphic and interactive. He is accountable for the brand’s visual integrity worldwide through Timberland retail, franchisees, distributors and wholesale. Bloemendaal’s Global Creative Services team is a group of experts from various agencies, brands, disciplines and backgrounds—all obsessed with creating unique design solutions. Their passion comes from an intimate understanding of each business, a historical knowledge of the brand and constant desire to push the innovative, creative and storytelling process. His previous experience includes visual and design roles at the Kinney Corp., former parent company to footwear brands Champs Sports, Foot Locker, Foot Quarters and Lady Foot Locker. Prior to joining Timberland, he was director of visual merchandising and marketing for Colorado, a division of the Venator Group. Paul O. Loux, Senior Vice President of Design, Sephora Americas Inc. Paul Loux is the Senior Vice President of Design for San Francisco-based Sephora, where he is responsible for all aspects of environmental design, overseeing Store Design and Planning and Visual Merchandising. Prior to joining Sephora in 2008, Loux served as the Retail Design Director in Nike’s Global Brand Design group from 2002 to 2008, where he worked on the retail design concepts for Nike’s freestanding and shop-in-shop store programs. Before Nike, he was the Director of Store Design at Levi’s in San Francisco from 1999 to 2002. He began his career in the department store world of Dayton Hudson’s and Marshall Field’s in 1991, working in both the visual merchandising and the store design teams. Loux received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in psychology and business and went on to attain his Master of Architecture degree at the University of Colorado, Denver. 2012
