This ventilation hood, which retails for $3,000, will make its debut in
the U.S. at KBIS 2014. Having already been launched in the European
market, the hood is available in white or black glass and features E.Ion
technology for air purification; perimeter suction with tempered glass;
LED lighting; a removable and washable top filter; touch control; and
a carbon zero filter. This model - designed by Italy-based PareschiatelierP - was chosen because it serves two purposes as a ventilator and an air-purifying hood. "We were also impressed that it can be
used over an island without venting to the outside, allowing new configurations of a kitchen without regard to where the vent is already,"
said Cheryl Draa, one of this year's judges. Mare E.Ion purifies the air
