To that end, Guerlain will feature a menu of “Harmonizing Massages,” all incorporating antiaging technology and designed to soothe the mind and spirit along with the body. The 40,000-sf Spa of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, slated to open this spring, will feature two wet/dry treatment rooms and two deluxe spa suites with Vichy showers among its 33 treatment rooms. The spa will be focused on the European healing tradition, offering several unique experiences, such as the Rain Tunnel, a simulated icy creek bed with pre-treatment scrubs and mud specialty showers; the Grand Whirlpool, which has a central water feature and underwater sound; the Liquidrom, a thermal bath of body-temperature saline water; and the Iced Creek, which will be outﬁtted with pebbles, ice cubes, and salts for foot soaking and will flow through all wet treatment rooms. In Clearwater, the new Sandpearl Resort’s Sandpearl Spa incorporates both thalassotherapy (therapy via the ocean) and Salus per Aqua (health via water) to encourage renewal and self-discovery amid its natural ocean setting. In addition to steam and inhalation treatments for ritual cleansing, the spa offers up a number of unusual options, including the Healing Waters mineral water bath, followed by the Marine Salt Scrub and the contrast Vichy Rain Shower; a Thalassobath, which is a therapeutic water massage in a hydrobath; and its signature Body Iridescence—a crushed pearl paste, dry skin brushing, and warm silica balm to stimulate circulation, detoxify, and ease fatigue. In keeping with the theme of all-around wellness, the spa also features yoga, tai chi, and meditation programs. —Irene Korn Incentive winners can dive into water treatments at the Sandpearl Spa. Cabanas Move Up Big Time Take a look at the list of amenities at most new hotels and those that are being renovated in Florida and the word “cabana” is probably going to be highlighted. When the Gansevoort South opens in downtown Miami this winter, the hotel will feature cabanas on its oceanfront pool plaza, beach cabanas, and even a whole outdoor level dedicated to cabanas between the pool and the beach.
