Meeting News - April 7, 2008 - (Page 22) Insider Report: Theme Parks Meetings Go Wild at Busch’s Florida Parks Groups meeting at Busch Gardens in Tampa will soon be able to conference one-on-one with an orangutan in the treetops or test sales pitches on a Bengal tiger. A new attraction, called Jungala, will offer a fouracre, eco-friendly jungle village—set amid towering trees and waterfalls—when it opens this month. It promises an unprecedented level of animal encounter, as well as zip-line rides through the forest canopy. The attraction can host events for up to 1,500 people. Meanwhile, the Aquatica water park, next door to SeaWorld Orlando, became the newest Busch Swim with the Fishes: Meeting-goers can get close with dolphins at Aquatica park. theme park when it opened last month. The park’s theme is the romance of the South Seas, and technology keeps the water at tropical temperatures all year. Visitors can plunge in clear tubes through pods of dolphins, race down raging rapids, or chill out in private cabanas next to a calm lagoon. Cedar Fair Adds Attractions At Its Parks On the East Coast Cedar Fair Entertainment, the parent company of Cedar Point, in Sandusky, OH, will make changes to several pieces of its portfolio next month. Cedar Point will add a spinning skyscraper to its collection of universally lauded roller coasters. The Sandcastle Suites Hotel, on the tip of the Cedar Point Peninsula, will complete a $3-million renovation this summer. Carowinds, in Charlotte, NC, is expanding its Boomerang Bay water park by adding a new 600,000-gallon wave pool.
