The multiphased project is designed to enhance the center’s already expansive exhibition and meeting spaces as well as boost connectivity with public areas. Owned by the City of Greenville—which is centrally located between Atlanta and Charlotte—the expanded Carolina First Center offers more than 315,000 square feet of exhibit space and 88,000 square feet of meeting and conference space for corporate meetings, trade shows, banquets, and special events for groups of 25 to 25,000. Everything planners need to stage and service events are on site. For example, awardwinning catering service features outstanding culinary and banquet staffs, state-of-the-art food service facilities, and banquet seating and service for up to 2,500. A professional event management team and abundant parking make this facility even more enticing. Accommodations in Greenville range from quaint bed and breakfasts to major hotels, including Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and Westin. Greenville offers more than 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 restaurants and nightspots. The city’s bustling Main Street boasts more than 60 restaurants, coffee shops, jazz clubs, and other entertainment venues. Greenville’s numerous attractions are geared to entertain a diverse array of attendees, from beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy to the acclaimed Liberty Bridge, a 355-foot pedestrian walkway overlooking the historic waterfall downtown. Throughout, there are plentiful museums, galleries, and performing arts venues with a full calendar of plays and concerts with historic sites and outdoor recreation. Greenville is conveniently located on Interstate 85 with two Interstate spurs leading directly downtown. Greenville’s ideal location puts major cities, mountains, and beaches within easy driving distance, making day trips a popular add-on. The Carolina First Center is just a 15-minute drive from the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport. Charlotte is a 1.5-hour drive away, while Atlanta is two hours away by car.
