DINING For onsite dining options, McCormick Place offers several outlets that feature carry-out and sit-down service. Owned and operated by the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA), Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center attracts more than 2 million visitors annually. McCormick Place offers a combined total of 2.7 million square feet of exhibit space—1.2 million square feet all on one level—making it the largest convention center in the U.S. CONVENTION CENTER McCormick Place is made up of four buildings: Lakeside Center and the South, North, and West Buildings. Halls A1 and A2 in the South Building are combined for 840,000 square feet of exhibition space. The center has 173 meeting rooms offering 700,000 square feet of space; four ballrooms ranging from 21,000 to 103,000 square feet; assembly seating for 18,000 people; the 4,249-seat Arie Crown Theater plus three 300-seat theaters; and ceiling heights of up to 50 feet. The entire McCormick Place campus is linked by dramatic pedestrian promenades and sky bridges. The new West Building offers 470,000 square feet of exhibit space and 250,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes 61 meeting rooms and a ballroom the size of a football field at 103,000 square feet, making it one of the largest ballrooms in the world. The convention center complex offers retail shops and a wide range of amenities and services, including a flight information display system (FIDS) providing real-time flight departure information for O'Hare and Midway Airports; BAGs Remote Airport Check-in Services (providing boarding card issuance and baggage acceptance for domestic flights leaving O’Hare International Airport); Internet and networking services; relaxation stations offering upper-body massage; and various services for attendees with disabilities. McCormick Place offers four FedEx Kinko's locations—level 2 in the North Building, level 2.5 in the South Building, level 2 in Lakeside Center, and level 2 in the West Building.
