Groups that book new business through ALHI over select dates at participating properties will receive a $35-per-room banquet food and beverage credit. Meanwhile, planners have two more reasons to work with ALHI. The hotel collective has added the new Vdara Condo Hotel, in Las Vegas, and Pinehurst Resort, Village of Pinehurst, NC. The private sale credit is based on the total number of paid rooms and suites on peak night—for up to a $10,000 credit. Bookings must be made by June 30 and actualized by March 31, 2009. It is available to groups with a minimum two-night program using at least 35 rooms on peak night. “[Planners] can use the credit to simply lessen their expenses or to add a ‘wow’ to their banquet,” said David Gabri, president and CEO of ALHI. “An extra $10,000 can go a long way.” Over 100 hotels and resorts worldwide belong to ALHI, providing more than 80,000 rooms and suites and over 9 million sf of meeting space. Included in those figures, the Vdara hotel will have 1,543 guest rooms and meeting space for groups of 10 to 400 people when it opens next year as part of Las Vegas’ CityCenter development. Pinehurst— home to more championship tournaments than any golf resort nationwide—provides 479 rooms and suites as well as 58,000 sf of meeting space. 8 MeetingNews April 21, 2008 Edited by Rayna Katz rayna.katz@nielsen.com Extreme Sheraton Makeover: U.S. Properties Get Redone White Plains, NY—Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has launched a complete design upgrade of lobbies and guest rooms at 100 U.S. properties.
