For ” 2009, the company has setup a new prototype and design department in which the company can create custom pieces of upholstered furniture in 30 days or less. “We understand the deadlines that designers and purchasing companies must work under and we want to exceed the lead times for these types of products, says Jackson. As for NEWH: “[We] were founded in 1957 and have ” never selected an organization to ‘partner’ with for over 51 years, says Jackson. “There has never ” been an organization that truly fits with our corporate strategy. However, after being part of NEWH for the past year, we have found that NEWH believes and understands the value of relationships. ” Serta International has been a leading mattress brand for the hospitality industry since the early ’90s. “We’ve been able to devote a great deal of resources to ensure that our presence is one of a partnership with our customers, says Carlos R. Canjura, national contract sales manager. While ” mattresses are a mere commodity, everyone in the Serta family concentrates on the overall picture and are present not just at the sales end, but also at the planning, expediting, troubleshooting, delivery, and servicing stages. “We understand that unless the most important human resource is utilized, we are no different, he says. Since the company’s object was to provide the safest ” mattresses in the U.S., in 2005, Serta became the first major mattress manufacturer to introduce FireBlocker construction in all of its sleep sets. Now, with the This Could Be Home guest purchase program, hotel guests can purchase a Serta mattress—found in Marriotts, Hiltons, Mirage Resorts, and Embassy Suites—to have the same great night’s sleep at home. Masland Hospitality is set for a banner year in 2009. Going against the industry trend, it will introduce up to eight new products in the first part of the year including Houndstooth, Silk Road, and the Archetype Collection. The bold styling and progressive color lines enhance its hospitality portfolio. “During a time when many mills are cutting back on their product development efforts, we have taken steps to introduce a wide range of new introductions for the hospitality market, says ” Paul Breland, vice president. The company will continue to give designers many solutions when specifying carpet for a hospitality environment including custom programs such as Masland Custom Area Carpets and Rugs (wall to wall carpet, inset area carpets and loose laid rugs); Masland Custom Broadloom; and Hospitality Portfolio (a broad range of patterns, colors, and borders are offered and can be produced in one or more of the company’s three textural technologies). Burtco Enterprises, Inc. has introduced a new texture in the Computerized Yarn Placement (CYP) pattern program. Until now, most CYP products were designed to be 100 percent cut pile or a combination of cut and loop pile. The new texture is made in a 100 percent loop pile construction and is directed at applications in very high-traffic areas and applications that have a high propensity for spotting. Also new for 2009 is a new product called In The Loop. “This 100 percent Zeftron solution-dyed nylon is a multicolored random sheared texture that uses the new metallic yarns in the Zeftron program, says Bob Kokoszka, president.
