The Cornell School of Hotel
Administration (SHA) has named
two prestigious scholarship
awards in Fabric Innovations’
president and owner Deborah
Herman’s honor. The Deborah
Herman Scholarship and Fabric
Innovations Scholarship awards
$10,000 to two extraordinary
students currently enrolled in the
school who meet the qualifications
to receive financial aid.
Kim Richardson is now the
sales director for Quiltcraft
Industries servicing Texas and the

Noreen Coup is now director of
design management for Marriott Vacations Worldwide. She
joined the company in 2003 and
has served as director sales
development for the past 10 years
overseeing design and project
management. In her new role, she
will focus on design.
Sandra Brumbaugh has added
AMTREND Furniture to her product
offerings.
Jane Webster of Jane Webster
Contract Interiors will now be
representing Desso Carpet to the
hospitality market in Toronto and
Montreal.
Atlantic City/Greater Philadelphia
chapter members— Kara Angotti,
Melissa Tully, Maureen
Rothman, Jean Barsky, and
Carol Mortimer—supported a
dressing room design project with
Dress for Success in Philadelphia
by donating their product and
services from interior design
and wallcovering to carpet tile
and seating. Angotti accepted
a fellowship with the Center for
Green Schools as part of the US
Green Building Council to roll out
sustainability initiatives in New
Jersey public and charter schools.
Kathy Griffiths welcomed her
first great granddaughter, Evalyn
Raese Griffiths-Ivin, on July 5th.
Heinrich Marquez has been
promoted to Moen’s strategic
account manager – architect and
design, providing value add product
solutions to strategic architecture
and design firms on the West Coast.
James Schaffner, sales
representative for P/Kaufmann
Contract, was awarded the Wilson
Associates’ Point of Excellence
Award at Wilson’s fundraising
luncheon in June.
David Mahood and Jeanne Varney
of Olive Hospitality Consulting
recently completed the LEED certification of Founding Farmer’s Park
Potomac Restaurant in Potomac,
Maryland. The project received the
LEED Silver certification rating under
the LEED CI-Retail rating system,
and boasts such green features as
exemplary water conservation, recycled content, regional materials,
low VOC paints and sealants, and
energy efficient lighting.
Samantha Eichenberg was
named a “2013 Wunderkind” by
Westchester magazine.
Thomas Michaud has joined Pivot
Projects’ Toronto office.

herself in the up-and-coming art

with her “Yarn-Bombing,” a type
of graffiti or street art that employs
colorful displays of knitted or
crocheted yarn or fiber rather than
paint or chalk.
Eric Worthington has joined Astoria
Compass as director of national
sales, and Patricia Muscarella
has joined the company’s office in
Pompano Beach, Florida, as the
newest member in the growing
project management team.
DEX products were used in the
newly reopened West Palm Beach
and Fort Drum Service Stations.
Susan Crowder announces her
seventh grandchild and first
granddaughter: Sloane Irene

Two former scholarship winners—
Brittany Swingley and Sean
Lee—now with Wynn Design
& Development, headed up
the winning team for the 2013
Art of Design chair competition
in Las Vegas. They created a
dress from an Ikea chair and
Roger Thomas’ 18th Century
Lacquer from Koroseal, dubbing
it Ombreweavable. Other team
members included Elizabeth
Murray, Micheal Wood, Marcia
Argyiades and Iris Sin.
Royal Custom Designs recently
hired Davion Guillory to manage
the Los Angeles area, and Pamela
Caldwell as a representative for
Northern California.
Lori Hass became engaged to her
longtime boyfriend, James Glik, on
June 2nd.
