Who's Who From awards to promotions, see what your fellow NEWH members are up to For Valley Forge Fabrics, Joelle DiBlasi now works on hospitality accounts in North Florida and the Orlando area, the Midwest, and the Northeast states. Javier Contreras now handles the territories of Tampa, Kentucky, Ohio, Pittsburgh, and South America including Trinidad, Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Republic Furniture Mfg., Inc. is celebrating its 50th anniversary of manufacturing custom upholstery for the hospitality and design community. Some recent projects by Republic are the suites at Borgota Hotel in Atlantic City, the king guestrooms at Bellagio, and the Veladora restaurant at the Rancho Valencia (shown). Andrea (Andi) Sell was chosen as this year's Outstanding Honoree - Media and Communications by the Women's Executive Council in Orlando at its annual Women's Achievement Awards in September. This organization, like NEWH, raises scholarships for worthy, local students. Erica Coursey, formerly of US Hospitality Group, has joined Northwest Hospitality Carpets as the Southeast sales manager. Lori Hass got engaged to James Gilk over the summer. 8 www.newh.org Duralee Contract added two new members to its network of sales associates. Representing Ohio will be Kimberly Babcock of Inspiring Spaces, LLC, and covering the territories of North and South Carolina will be Teri and David Schell of Overlees Contract Resources, LLC. Bill Blackstock has been promoted to Milliken's regional vice president of sales for the Americas. The Las Vegas chapter will host its annual HOSPY Awards on November 16th at the Wynn Las Vegas. The night will not only celebrate the awards' 10-year anniversary, but will also honor Todd Avery-Lenahan, founder of TAL Studio. The HOSPY Awards recognizes individuals and firms for extraordinary achievement in architecture, design, and development in the hospitality industry. Ginger Raphael is engaged to Kirk Wayland of Dunkirk and recently joined Light SF as a sales and design consultant. Michael Schneider (right) with instructor Stephen Dudley earned his private pilot certificate in September. After completing flight training at Sporty's Academy in Cincinnati, he passed an oral and a flight exam with a Federal Aviation Administration designated flight examiner. Emily Morley, of ForrestPerkins' San Francisco office, passed the NCIDQ exam. Ulster Carpets was awarded "UK Exporter of the Year" at the 3rd annual PWC Private Business Awards at London's Guildhall in September. The event was hosted by BBC World presenter, Naga Munchetty, and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne served as the guest speaker. Ulster Carpets also recently designed and installed carpets for one of her Her Majesty Palaces and Fortresses, the Tower of London, home to the Crown Jewels. http://www.newh.org
