Recommended Read: "150 Weird
Words That Only Architects Use"
from Arch Daily
Interestingly, there is definitely
overlap between some of the weird
words that architects use and the
weird words in photography jargon.
This is an engaging read for creatives
of any discipline, visual or otherwise.

Holly Murphy is the editorial assistant
of Perspective, as well as a designer and
brand strategist based out of New York
City. With experience in both event
design and experiential brand strategy,
she brings an eclectic mix of knowledge
to the creative industry. She is currently
a Designer at Gensler NY.

ATTRACTION by Esther Hicks

KIMBERLY RICHTER

Kimberly Richter is the Associate
Managing Editor of Perspective.
She is currently a Lifestyle Brand
Manager and Strategist at Gensler
NYC, where she specializes in
developing experiences that tell
a client's story. Here at Perspective,
we like to refer to her as a "hybrid
dynamo"-prior to earning her
master's in architecture w/emphasis
in interior architecture from
The School of the Art Institute of
Chicago, she worked at Perkins+Will,
HBO and commercial-production
company Ridley Scott & Associates.

This book recounts the powerful basics
of "like attracts like"-a simple concept
that allows makers, creators and
industry innovators alike to manifest
and influence their reality, ultimately
taking a lot of the guesswork away
from daily living.

A RETROSPECTIVE edited by
Michael Auping
There are several Frank Stellas-
the abstract painter, small-scale
sculptor and creator of the large,
computer-designed architectural
pieces that now adorn public spaces
around the country-and this
comprehensive, richly illustrated
book gives all of them their due. We
can all learn from Stella's example as
the continual evolver, exploring new
challenges every day.

TAEK HYUN KIM

Taek Kim is a graphic designer
at Thirst, where he collaborates
with Bud on the layout of Perspective
Magazine. He received a B.F.A.
in Communication Design from
Hongik University in South Korea
and a M.F.A. in Visual Communication Design from the School of
the Art Institute of Chicago.

This article makes you think about
the bigger picture, the patterns of the
natural environment, the power of
the human eye, and the possibilities
beyond life as we know it. It reminds
you of the depth of scientific research
and the importance of continual
exploration. Experimentation and
imagination are helpful aids to
familiar methods in the pursuit
of understanding.

freelance writer and photographer.

Recommended Read: IF ON A
WINTER'S NIGHT A TRAVELER by
Italo Calvino.
A novel composed of fragments of
other fictional novels, this book
conjures a beautiful kind of
uncertainty. A fascinating read.
