Technical Services - Summer 2008 - (Page 22) TS Successfully Transitions to One Source By Michelle Bohlen T echnical Services recently transitioned the majority of the sector to the One Source Enterprise Resource Plan- ning (ERP) shared systems and services. One Source is a Northrop Grumman solution that eliminates the need to enter, gather and report data from multiple ERP systems. “Technical Services has accomplished a tremendous feat in changing nearly the entire set of business systems and streamlining the number of entities going forward,” said Allgair. “Many thanks go to the entire One Source team and countless personnel involved in stabilization efforts, as well as our employees in the field who worked through numerous challenges while continuing to provide superior performance on all programs. The entire team has put forth extraordinary efforts managing both regular jobs and project work while coordinating tasks across multi-sector teams and corporate partners. I am extremely proud of Technical Services’ accomplishments and dedication on this very important milestone.” One Source integrates select business tools, enabling information sharing by employees at corporate, Information Technology, Integrated Systems, Mission Systems, Space Technology, Ship Systems and Technical Services. One Source will allow TS to remain competitive and adapt quickly to changing requirements. It also will eliminate the risks inherent in running multiple legacy systems, provide a foundation for process improvements, reduce our cost of operations and increase efficiency. Additional information about One Source ERP can be found on the One Source Web site at http://onesource. northgrum.com/. TS The conversion to the One Source ERP significantly improved the way TS does business. According to Greg Allgair, director ERP Systems for Northrop Grumman TS, the implementation resulted in standard timekeeping, purchasing, accounting, human resources and travel expense systems. Additionally, the sector consolidated 21 sets of books to nine. Allgair points out that there were some challenges during the stabilization phase but through the dedication and commitment of the TS “Go-live” support team and the extended team, both at the Headquarters and all of our field locations in all functions, resolutions were quickly achieved.
