Technical Services - Winter 2009 - (Page 5) ss TS executes swift program transition after security services award in Southwest Asia I n early July, Technical Services was awarded the Southwest Asia Support Services contract to provide security support for Southwest Asia air bases that are used by the U.S. and other NATO forces. Team TS wasted no time after contract award recruiting the most qualified candidates to support the program. A phase-in team from Air Force Central Command Security Support Services was formed to accomplish the hiring. Staffing support consisted of two full-time recruiters reviewing resumes and making offers, one casual recruiter sourcing for new candidates and two full-time recruiting coordinators dedicated to deployment processing tasks. The team reviewed more than 500 resumes and 4,000 applications; placed sponsor agreements in countries where the company had not operated before; and hired, trained and deployed more than 76 employees to several locations in Southwest Asia. It took five to ten business days, depending on visa requirements, to process each team through the Herndon, Va., office before deployment. “We demonstrated our capability to rapidly deploy a highly qualified, trained workforce to the Middle East while meeting all requirements,” said Bob Hill, Southwest Asia Support Services program manager. “The phase-in team’s hard work provided a smooth changeover in security management responsibility from the Air Force Security Forces.” Pictured center is Bob Hill, Southwest Asia Support Services program manager, holding a company recognition certificate; a recognition certificate was presented to each member of the ACFENT team for exemplary customer support during program phase-in.
