To commemorate the event, the 509th Bomb Wing commander, Brig. Gen. Garrett Harencak, hosted a recognition ceremony for the team, congratulating its members on their accomplishments in bringing improved capabilities to the B-2. The TS team included depot-level mechanics, electricians, low-observable technicians, inspectors, supervisors and engineers. They performed all aircraft disassembly; installed and/or modified wire harnesses; line replaceable units and hardware; and completed aircraft reassembly, systems checkout and regression testing. The completion of Link-16 was the result of hard work and close coordination with the 509th Bomb Wing and Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Systems sector. “Link-16 brings an outstanding new capability to the B-2 Bomber, expanding the warfighter’s ability to operate with other air, land and sea assets in one network,” said Mike Galaway, director of Long Range Strike P3 and P4 programs at Integrated Systems.
