NOTARY NOTES Notary Education From PAN First Time Notary Seminar is state-approved training that fulfills the three-hour mandatory education provision for new Pennsylvania notaries. This morning class covers the Notary Public Law, use of the notarial seal and register, acceptable forms of customer identification, and the official notarial powers. State Department Approved. Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar is a three-hour seminar in the afternoon designed to complement the First Time Notary Seminar. You will learn strategies to deal with common problems that notaries encounter in many kinds of documents. Note: Only the First Time Notary Seminar and the Notary Reappointment Seminar meet the state requirements for education. No credit is given for Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar or Information Security & Identity Theft Seminar. 2008 Notary Seminars Notary Reappointment Seminar is the first of its kind to be approved by the Secretary of the Commonwealth. This training fulfills Pennsylvania's educational requirement for reappointed notaries. This three-hour morning class includes a review of the notarization procedures; a review of the official notary powers, including an in-depth look at affidavits and acknowledgments; and coverage of problem documents, complex forms and electronic notarization. State Department Approved. Information Security & Identity Theft Seminar is an afternoon three-hour course offering intensive training in what notaries need to know about information security and identity theft. It covers the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and how it affects you and your customers. During this three-hour class you'll learn how to protect your information; how to protect your customer's information; and what to do if your identity is stolen.
