The Pascagoula School District population includes 7,000 students and 1,200 employees at two National Blue Ribbon High Schools, three middle schools, eleven elementary schools, an Opportunity Center, an Applied Technology Center and the Jackson County Exceptional School for students with severe handicaps, making it the 11th largest school district in the state. With innovations such as the S.T.A.R. (Students’ Technology and Reading) bus, the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Institute of Technology, Teacher Enhancement Academy and Kindergarten Discovery, the district offers low student-teacher ratio, curriculum and technology training, afterschool tutoring and summer programs.
