The entire building will not be utilized immediately, but instead will be built out over the next several years. When built out, the building will contain 22 operating rooms, a new ER with 75 treatment bays, a 34 bed ICU, a rooftop helipad, and a cardiology floor. :: SPARROW HEALTH SYSTEM Back in 1896, a group of women volunteered to care for the sick and injured. With $400 and a house on Ottawa Street, they founded Lansing’s first healthcare service. From those humble beginnings emerged Sparrow Health System, Mid Michigan’s leader in quality, compassionate and cost effective health care that is nationally recognized for excellence. Sparrow is Lansing’s only community owned and governed health system. Since its inception, Sparrow has provided care to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. Sparrow Health System provides comprehensive services throughout the region at locations that include its flagship Sparrow Hospital, mid-Michigan’s most comprehensive acute care facility. Other locations include St. Lawrence Campus, Clinton Memorial Hospital, Michigan Athletic Club (MAC)/Health Science Pavilion, Sparrow Professional Building, Sparrow Regional Cancer Center, Sparrow Medical Arts Building and the Medical Dental Building. Each year Sparrow Health System treats over 120,000 people – a third of which are children. :: INGHAM REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER In 1913, mothers came to Ingham to give birth. Today, Ingham Region Medical Center delivers more than 1,900 newborns annually in one room, Labor – Delivery Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) Suites that pamper moms and encourage birth as a family experience. Ingram Regional Medical Center in Lansing is a community-based, university-affiliated teaching hospital that was recently rated among the top 5% nationally among non-government, acute care hospitals by HealthGrades® for quality care and clinical excellence. Innovation is synonymous with Ingham. Accolades received include cardiac and orthopedic care. The medical center offers many service areas that include Breast Care Center, Curative Wound Center, Pain Management Center, Center for Sleep and Alertness, four pediatric hospitals, and many rehabilitations centers.
